Maternity Style Steal

There’s a bit of a celebrity baby boom brewing at the moment, with everyone from Kelly Clarkson to Kate Winslet expecting the pitter patter of tiny designer booties.  While these lucky ducks have stylists on hand to see them through those sartorially-tricky months, we mere mortals must muddle through on our own…and dressing for two can leave some in a bit of a sticky style spot.

Never fear, mums-to-be; a little muffin in the oven needn’t mean nine months of wardrobe misery! We’ve looked to the stars for some style inspiration and created six gorgeous looks straight from our very own maternity range, available in sizes 14-32.

Plus size, pregnant and fashionable!

Time for something a little bit different! As you know, we have a gorgeous plus size maternity range in sizes 14-32 – and over the last couple of months, we’ve been inundated with style questions from fashionable mums-to-be. So when we saw this snap of Natalie Cassidy, we just had to give you a Maternity Style Special!

The ex-Eastender and soon to be mother was positively glowing at the Karate Kid Premier! She took to the red carpet in a LBD that hugged her baby bump – and we couldn’t be happier to see the actress embracing her curves!

So how can you look as good as Natalie? Well, firstly, you have to be heavily pregnant – it’s that or stick a pillow up your top. Next comes a visit to the Simply Be website where we keep our plus size maternity collection!

Now we know that there aren’t many women who can pull off a dress like Natalie’s. It’s body-con, short-sleeved AND shorter than most pregnant women would dream of wearing. Wow, and those shoes – gorgeous but so high!

It’s not for everyone, we know. So we’ve taken the theme, red carpet glam, and done it in a way we think you’ll love. Try it next time you’ve got a party to go to!

Get the look!

So, we’ve started the look with a pair of plus size maternity leggings. These are an essential buy for every mum-to-be – they make dressing so much easier and can help you make the most of everything in your wardrobe that still fits, despite your growing bump.

Then we’ve added this fabulous plus size maternity tunic. As you know, florals are staying for another season of fashion reworks, so this will take you right through your pregnancy! And it’s so flattering. The sheer layers give the illusion of skin without actually showing anything off. So you can cover up in a gorgeously subtle way!

And accessories are your best friends – you can wear them now and keep long after your bump is gone. Natalie’s gone simple with her minimalist look, but we’re going to load them on to our super-feminine outfit.

Start with a bag – over the shoulder is handy and this rose patterned one is the perfect partner to our floral top. A boho pendant will finish the look – and for shoes, rose-bud pumps. You may need to get someone else to help you put them on, but trust us, they’ll be worth it!

And there you have it, a head-to-toe maternity look for the plus size woman. Now you just need a party to go to!
