The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is a lavish display of elaborate costumed lingerie, bejewelled models and world-famous entertainers.
Supermodels including Gisele Bündchen, Heidi Klum and Adriana Lima have graced the catwalk over its 23-year history, and the world’s biggest musicians –from Taylor Swift to Jay-Z –have performed there.
An elite group of models known as ‘Angels’ are chosen as year-round spokesmodels, but only one Angel gets the honour of wearing the coveted ‘Fantasy Bra’, which is the focal point of the show.
To this day, no curve or plus-size models have ever been cast – which has raised questions about the show’s diversity and inclusivity. 89% of women say they don't feel represented in mainstream media, on runways and on TV – and it’s easy to see why.
In the below infographic, we find out how Angels compare to everyday women and investigate the show’s absence of plus-size lingerie.
